Mail Delivery
Mail is delivered to patient rooms once a day. Please be sure your friends and family know your room number and that they use your complete name. Mail should be addressed to:

Any outgoing stamped mail can be dropped off at the nursing station.
Telephones
You may place local calls at no cost by simply dialing the number.
Long distance calls must be charged on your telephone credit card or placed “collect” by dialing “8” + “0” for an outside operator.
Visitors may use the pay phones located near the lobby or near the elevators on each floor.
To call another room in the hospital, dial “6142” + the room number. For your comfort, bedside incoming calls are turned off at 9:00 p.m.
Television Services
Each room in the hospital is equipped with a remote controlled television set. Television service is provided free of charge. If your television is not operating correctly, please ask your nurse for assistance. The television section of this guide provides a comprehensive listing of broadcast station programming. A new guide is available each week. Check with your nursing station if you need an updated copy.

Housekeeping
If you have comments about the housekeeping or linen service in your room, please contact your nurse.
Meals
If you have a regular or modified diet, you may select your meals from a menu. Support Services will deliver your menu daily. Gourmet meals prepared by our chef are available for a fee. Guest trays served in your room are available at reasonable rates. Your nurse can contact the dietitian on your behalf.
If you would like more information about your diet or our gourmet meal program, please ask your nurse or dietitian.
Smoking
For your health, the health of other patients and our visitors, UAMS is a smoke-free environment, both inside of our buildings and outside on our grounds. We are not asking you to quit smoking, only that you not smoke on UAMS property. Thank you for observing our smoke-free environment.
