Losing weight requires effort and commitment, and UAMS understands that you need support to lose those pounds and inches. Hundreds of patients have found success with our UAMS program, including former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. That's because it is not just a diet. As a teaching hospital committed to the health of Arkansans, we've done our research, and it shows in the results of our patients.
Our program provides support and resources to our patients who have dramatic weight loss and addresses the medical effects of weight loss. We have weeks of classes for our participants on behavior modification, nutrition and weight maintenance.
Traditional and trendy diet programs do not offer the level of expertise you will find at UAMS, which is conveniently located for residents of the greater Little Rock area. Our caring and compassionate medical specialists also can manage medical conditions that often accompany being overweight:
While your doctor can refer you to our weight loss program, we welcome you to join us without a referral. To begin the program, all you will need to do is schedule an appointment to attend a free orientation session. You will be followed weekly; there is no follow-up treatment or appointment schedule to be made.
