Urology Cancer Clinic

At UAMS, we offer the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques as part of a broad range of urology services. Our doctors are among the few highly qualified surgeons in Arkansas with the expertise to provide robotic surgery.

Did you know that prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men and is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men? When cancer strikes the prostate and other male reproductive organs, our specialists in the Urology Cancer Clinic at UAMS are uniquely qualified to treat patients. In addition to prostate cancer, the clinic also treats patients with kidneybladderpenile and testicular cancer.

Patients at our Urology Cancer Clinic receive personalized care in a confidential environment by caring and compassionate doctors who work closely with their counterparts in the UAMS Departments of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology to provide a multidisciplinary approach.

Please contact us for additional information on our services at the Urology Cancer Clinic at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

Appointments

Appointments with the Urology Cancer Clinic are by referral only. Please contact your primary care doctor or visit one of our doctors in the Center for Primary Care to obtain a referral.

The quickest way to request an appointment is through our online appointment service. Patients are seen quickly (usually within two - three weeks).

If you prefer to call and request an appointment, please call 501-296-1200 for new patients and 501-686-5655 for returning patients and referral appointments.

What should I bring to the appointment?

For your first appointment, please bring a picture ID and your insurance card. The UAMS medical staff will also need information about any medications you're taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.

For future appointments, please provide copies of any additional slides or test results and advise us of any changes in your insurance information or your medications.

For the health of your child and the safety of our patients, we ask that children age 12 and younger remain on the first floor in the lobby or café.

We realize that this may be a challenge for patients without childcare options. If you must bring your child, please visit the Welcome Desk when you arrive and they will assist you in finding an appropriate and safe place to wait with your child.

What is the best way to contact a nurse at the clinic or request a prescription refill from the clinic?

Call the Clinic at 501-686-5655 and follow the prompts to request a nurse or a prescription refill. In addition, you can request prescription refills during your visit.

If you originally filled your prescription at the UAMS Outpatient Pharmacy, you can also refill your prescription online.
