Voice and swallowing disorders can greatly limit your ability to eat, drink or communicate comfortably. And these disorders may be caused by many different factors, events, physical illnesses and diseases. The vast majority of voice and swallowing problems are not life threatening and are easily treated.
If you are having trouble swallowing or having issues with your voice, the Voice and Swallowing Center at UAMS is dedicated to the evaluation, treatment, and management of voice and swallowing disorders. Our goal is to provide you with the best treatment options available to preserve the highest level of voice and swallowing function.
Because UAMS is a teaching hospital, our center brings together a wealth of resources and expertise. Our Voice and Swallowing Center consists of a team of fellowship trained doctors, speech pathologists, nurses, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment and the resources of the UAMS Medical Center to offer comprehensive and complete care of the voice and swallowing systems.
In addition to providing the highest level of patient care, our Center is committed to building public awareness of voice
and swallowing disorders through teaching and education. Clinical and basic science research is another vital component of our Center.
