With our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Services, otherwise known as physiatry services, you will find UAMS approaches treatment of the whole patient so that you can perform to the fullest of your physical, emotional, social and vocational potential.

UAMS also performs electrodiagnostic studies to assess nerve and muscle disorders.
Instead of focusing on one part of the body, we target development of a comprehensive program for putting the pieces of your life back together -- medically, socially, emotionally and vocationally -- after injury or disease. We use many different patient care strategies and interventions, and aim to improve your personal potential, as well as reduce impairments and disabilities.
For some of our services, our doctors will require information from a referring physician. Also, please check with your insurance to see if a referral is needed.
