Patient-Centered Medical Home

At UAMS, we are constantly striving to improve the quality of medical care offered to the state of Arkansas. Toward that goal, our primary care clinics are seeking certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Through this organization's Patient-Centered Medical Home program, our doctors are trained to organize medical care for patients, working with teams to coordinate and track care over time.

Using a state-of-the-art electronic medical record and the skills of our highly trained medical staff, we offer our patients the opportunity to form a partnership with their primary care doctor to receive affordable and effective health care services. Requirements for these credentials are demanding, and we've opened our doors for inspection to demonstrate our commitment to our patients. Since this is the most rigorous, transparent and unbiased accreditation program, you can be assured that you have the best in medical care for you and your family.

Constantly raising the bar, the National Committee for Quality Assurance regularly revises and updates standards to reflect advances and evolving patient needs, which leads to continuous improvement and better value for UAMS patients.

Through the Patient-Centered Medical Home program, we'll provide:

  • Access to care: Same-day, urgent care appointments and access to your team members by phone and MyChart between appointments
  • Support for managing conditions
  • Continuity of care
  • High quality of care based on the best and latest scientific knowledge
  • Knowledge of your medical history
  • A team of experts to work with you in managing your health and wellness
  • Surveys to encourage patient feedback

The UAMS Family Medical Center is Arkansas' first Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home, which is the highest level awarded by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Our Internal Medicine South and Longevity Clinics have also received this recognition.
