Leslie W. Taylor 

Associate Vice Chancellor, Communications & Marketing 
Leslie Welch Taylor oversees UAMS’ media and public relations, serves as official UAMS spokesperson, and is the primary contact for national media and for media requests made under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. She was formerly vice president of corporate communications at Alltel Communications, vice president of communications & marketing for the Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute (CARTI), and director of public relations for UAMS Medical Center. She spent more than a decade as a writer and editor for publications including the Arkansas Gazette, the Arkansas Times, and the Arkansas Democrat. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is completing her master’s degree.

Andrea Peel

Director of Communications
Andrea Peel has been in the communications and public relations profession since 1994. She has been with UAMS since 2002 when she was hired as communications manager. Peel was promoted to director of communications in 2006. In that role she directs UAMS external and internal communications including media and public relations, answers media requests and facilitates publicity about UAMS news. She also oversees major UAMS public and employee events. Before coming to UAMS she spent six years as manager of corporate communications at Alltel Communications. She started her career as a television producer and graphic artist at B&F Advertising in Little Rock. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.

Jerri Jackson

Media Relations Manager 
Jerri Jackson began her career at UAMS as director of public relations at UAMS Medical Center in 1997. Prior to coming to UAMS, she served as director of public relations for the Arkansas Department of Health and spent many years in the broadcast industry as a reporter and on-air personality for radio and television stations including KARK-TV, Channel 4. She was named manager of media relations for the UAMS campus in 2002. In that role she works directly with media outlets, helping facilitate interviews with UAMS faculty and staff. She majored in mass communications at Southern Illinois State University.

Liz Caldwell

Managing Editor
Liz Caldwell directs the UAMS News Bureau, which produces news releases, magazines, feature articles and other writing about UAMS services, medical innovations, research, faculty and staff, grants, awards and other events for internal and external publication. She also helps answer media requests and facilitate publicity about UAMS news. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and previously worked in public and media relations at the Stone Ward agency and Acxiom Corp., both in Little Rock. She also spent 15 years as a reporter for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Stephens Media Group’s Arkansas News Bureau.
