UAMS Medical Center
The patient care facilities at UAMS are anchored by our newly expanded hospital with a total of 540,000 square feet and all private rooms. The care we provide has always been exceptional, but with this new facility our patients and families are given care in a much more comfortable and spacious environment. Our expansion has also given UAMS the following:
- A new emergency/trauma center with 34 private rooms and dedicated radiology services
- Additional surgical, radiological and procedure suites
- A new intensive care unit
- A special newborn intensive care nursery (NICU) with private rooms for mom, dad and baby, play space for siblings, kitchen and laundry facilities and additional family areas
- Technologically-advanced cardiovascular suites
Our Psychiatric Research Institute has 40 inpatient rooms that connect to the new hospital on the fourth floor.
