The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), the only academic health center in Arkansas, is a nationally recognized institution of teaching, healing, searching and serving.

Our overarching purpose at UAMS is to engage in activities that result in better health – through education, and training of health professionals, discovery of new knowledge through research and translation of that knowledge into improvements in health and economic development.

In addition to its hospital and clinics, UAMS includes five colleges and a graduate school, eight Area Health Education Centers and six institutes of excellence.

UAMS currently receives only 9% of its funding from the state of Arkansas. So, private philanthropic support is very important for continued growth.

Imagine being part of something amazing. Help fund hope and healing. Your support is important.
