If you're like most people, your primary care doctor is your most important source of health care. In fact, from the time of birth, almost everyone sees a primary care doctor for most of their medical needs.

At UAMS, our Family Medical Center is a comprehensive primary care facility where you and your entire family can obtain the highest quality of individualized care in an environment that is compassionate, respectful, private and responsive to your needs.

We offer services for everyone in your family, including individualized pediatric care for your children. Since we know how important it is for your child to see a doctor soon, our Center has same-day appointments available in most cases. We offer school physicals and also participate in the ADH Vaccine for Children Program.

Our Family Medical Center physicians are highly trained family medicine specialists, many of whom have been included among the nation's Best Doctors by Best Doctors, Inc. Appointments

The Family Medical Center is a primary care clinic. Some insurance providers may require a copay for this service, so please check with your insurance provider prior to your appointment. You may request an appointment through our online appointment service.

What should I bring to the appointment?

For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you're taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.

For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.

How do I request a prescription refill or contact a nurse from the clinic?

Call the clinic at 501-686-6560, or you can request prescription refills during your appointment. If you originally filled your prescription at the UAMS Outpatient Pharmacy, you can also refill your prescription online.
