At UAMS, our Neurology Clinic is a world leader in developing innovative ways to diagnose and treat epilepsy in children and adults.
We bring together a team of experts from different medical specialties who work together to find the most appropriate epilepsy treatment for each patient. An integrated, multidisciplinary approach is essential to achieve the optimal outcome for you.
Our Clinical Epilepsy Division of the Department of Neurology includes an outpatient clinic, the EEG laboratory and the inpatient epilepsy-monitoring unit.
We conduct most outpatient procedures in our Neurology Clinic, which consists of 12 examining rooms and on-site laboratory facilities for clinical and research purposes.
Our EEG Laboratory performs electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings on outpatients and inpatients with seizures, spells and a variety of other conditions. The EEG, which records your brain’s electrical activity, can provide evidence of epilepsy by demonstrating signs of electrical irritability.
Our four-bed epilepsy-monitoring unit is dedicated to confirming a diagnosis of epilepsy and pinpointing seizure activity and origin. Video and EEG recordings of seizure activity can be made 24 hours a day.
