Exercise Endurance Lab
If you want to start an exercise program or if you are a seasoned athlete who has played professional sports, our Exercise Endurance Lab at UAMS can help you with an individualized plan to fit your needs.
Regardless of whether you enjoy cycling, tennis or walking, we can help you increase your athletic ability. We provide the latest sport science services to diagnose where you are physically and what needs to be done to increase your performance level. We also work to help you reduce your risk of getting injured.
At the Exercise Endurance Lab, we want to help improve your skills. We offer a variety of services such as:
Physiology testing
Cardiovascular screening
VO2 max testing
Body fat analysis
Physiology testing allows us to identify an athlete's main weaknesses and can help us monitor the effectiveness of his/her training program.
A VO2 test measures the amount of oxygen your body uses at different exertion levels while you exercise on a bike or treadmill. This test reveals the exercise level that will optimize an athlete's ability to burn fat. This is done as you breathe through a mask during a short workout. The recorded information is then used to calculate your personal Target Intensity Zones. These zones will give you the specific target heart rates required for each level of intensity.
Our facility is dedicated to providing individuals and groups of all fitness levels with ways to improve in the way they play their sports. We are staffed with a
sports medicine
doctor and highly-trained nurses who can also guide you in implementing or enhancing your individual fitness and sport training.
At UAMS, we not only want to ensure that you are in the game but that you are competing to the best of your ability.
