As the only academic medical center in Arkansas, we offer one of the most comprehensive 24-hour emergency facilities staffed to provide response to the emergency care needs of the community.

We are prepared to treat patients with a wide range of medical needs from those who are critically ill or injured to those with minor illness or injury. And if needed, our emergency and trauma doctors have immediate access to our in-house specialists such as orthopedic/trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, cardiologists and others. Many of the state's top doctors in their field are on staff at UAMS and are just a phone call away.
