STRIVE – Seeking to Reinforce My Identity and Values Everyday

STRIVE, UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute

STRIVE is a school-based community outreach program located at Pine Street in North Little Rock. The goal of this program is to provide intensive outpatient therapy for students who are at risk for out-of-home placement due to emotional and behavioral problems, helping them develop a positive identity and value system.

Our program's mission is to help students who are failing academically and socially to develop the identity and values they need to be successful in life. To better accommodate each student's individual needs, we approach therapy and treatment in a variety of ways:

  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • Family therapy
  • Family night
  • Social skills activities
  • Collateral interventions
  • On/off site interventions
  • Crisis intervention/stabilization
  • Medication management

In addition to our in-school services, we provide an eight-week summer program for at-risk students. This summer program is open to students from Little Rock, North Little Rock and the surrounding areas. In a positive, structured environment students learn about:

  • Anger control techniques
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Self esteem
  • Coping skills
  • Interpersonal relationship skills
  • Positive social skills
