Jason S. Mizell, M.D.

Dr. Mizell is from a small country town in Louisiana, but left to attend Louisiana Tech University where he graduated summa cum laude in 2000. Dr. Mizell obtained his medical degree and completed a general surgery residency at Louisiana State Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He chose to specialize in colon and rectal surgery. 

Dr. Mizell enjoys teaching medical students and residents, and has won a number of awards for his teaching. In addition to his teaching, Dr. Mizell is also the Director of Undergraduate Education. This postion allows him to assist with medical student education during their surgical rotation.

Dr. Mizell married his wife in 2000 and they have three young children. The family is very active in their local church, and have participated in medical mission trips to Mexico, Turkey and Cambodia to help with medical and spiritual needs.
