Dr. Donald Lee Bodenner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Geriatrics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He is Director of the Thyroid Center and Chief of Endocrine Oncology.
Dr. Bodenner earned his medical degree and Ph.D. (Chemistry) from the University of Minnesota. He also completed his internship and residency at the University of Minnesota where he was Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. Dr. Bodenner completed an Endocrinology Fellowship and was a Senior Staff Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology.
Dr. Bodenner is a member of the Endocrine Society, the American Federation of Clinical Research, and the American College of Physicians. Throughout his medical career, Dr. Bodenner has received multiple awards for outstanding performance in the areas of clinical teaching and clinical research, including the American Federation of Clinical Research Early Career Development Award and the Red Sash Award here at UAMS. In addition, he has contributed to numerous professional publications and written articles for such prestigious publications as the American Journal of Medicine and. Currently, Dr. Bodenner is conducting ongoing clinical research in the field of thyroidology in which he has a special interest.
