UAMS Receives $2.45 Million Grant Renewal to Boost Disadvantaged, Disabled and Minority Biomed Doctoral Grads

LITTLE ROCK — A University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) program developed to help increase the number of underrepresented, disadvantaged and disabled students graduating with doctoral degrees in biomedical sciences recently received a $2.45 million National Institutes of Health (NIH) training grant that will continue through 2019.

LITTLE ROCK – The Advisory Council of the South Central Telehealth Resource Center, newly established and composed of 18 members from Arkansas, Tennessee and Louisiana, will meet for the first time May 9. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Center for Distance Health serves as the telehealth resource center for the south central region of the United States.
