Since 1989 the Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy (MIRT) at UAMS has grown from a concept into a highly regarded research and clinical care program. It is the largest and most comprehensive program in the world for the treatment of and research in multiple myeloma and related disorders.
Regarded as international experts, Myeloma Institute physicians and scientists, conduct research that is translated into life-saving therapies. They train tomorrow’s leaders in the understanding and treatment of myeloma, and educate the public about myeloma.
Noted for its novel translational research, the Myeloma Institute continually pursues progress in the basic laboratory that can be applied to development of curative therapies. Treatments tested through clinical trials at the Myeloma Institute are adopted by major cancer centers.
Patients come to the Myeloma Institute from every state in the U.S. and from over 40 countries around the globe.
How You Can Help
Today, more and more patients treated at the Myeloma Institute are able to live their years with quality and hope because of the generosity of patients, families, and friends.
The possibilities for treatment and care are limited only by our ability to expand our research, education, and clinical programs.
Your donations
help establish stable funding for the Myeloma Institute — making certain that the healthcare needs of our
community will always be met.
UAMS is currently involved in a comprehensive campaign to ensure a healthier future for Arkansans. A significant portion of Campaign Imagine,
which has a goal of $325 million, will be designated to fund critical
initiatives within the Myeloma Institute.
Please consider supporting the Myeloma Institute. Your gifts are important and appreciated. Make an online donation today.
