Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic

FAQ and DirectionsClinic FAQ and Directions

The Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic in the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging provides primary care for patients who are 65 years and older. We offer the convenience of having most of your senior health care needs in one location, making it unnecessary for you to go to several doctors at different locations.

Our multi-disciplinary team approach is used to provide the unique care that older adults need--care that focuses your health, physical fitness and living situation. You will receive complete and individualized care management from our team of specialists:

  • Geriatricians (medical doctors who specialize in the care of senior citizens)
  • Advanced practice nurses (APNs)
  • Physician assistants
  • Pharmacists
  • Social workers
  • Nutritionists and dieticians
  • Physical and occupational therapists
  • Other health care providers

Our social workers can help you understand and select insurance or drug plans, help you resolve care giving issues and offer advice about long-term care options. Nutritional issues that impact your personal health are addressed by our trained nutritionist. Our pharmacist will review all medicines you take, including over-the-counter products, to ensure that your medicines are effective.

A referral is not necessary to schedule an appointment at the Longevity Clinic unless your insurance carrier requires one. Medicare and most private insurance plans are accepted.

We provide many specialized senior health care services including:

  • Screening for age-related diseases
  • Driver safety screening
  • Caregiver training and support
  • Urgent care clinic

Free parking for patients is available in the lot adjacent to the Institute on Aging building.

Located within the Institute on Aging is the Ottenheimer Fitness Center, a complete athletic complex for individual weight training and physical therapy, including a therapeutic pool.

Please contact us for additional information on our Longevity Clinic services at UAMS.
