The Preventive, Occupational and Environmental Medicine program (POEM) at the UAMS Family Medical Center offers you the best in health care services. Our services are available for businesses, industries and also individuals. We work to create a healthier environment for you by
identifying existing healthcare needs that could possibly cause illness and injury for employees. Illness and injuries at work can often cost a company more money than if the problem had been fixed before the injury or illness occurred.
We offer a wide variety of services to meet whatever need you may have. These include:
We also have wellness training available that can consist of smoking cessation, back injury prevention, stress reduction and substance abuse.
Through our Preventive, Occupational and Environmental Medicine program, we also have several employment programs such as:
- Pre-employment physicals
- Drug/alcohol testing
- Fitness-for-duty examinations
- Independent Medical Evaluations (IME)
- Functional capacity assessments
- Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals
In addition, we also have experience handling aspects of workers' compensation, including injury treatment and management, case management and rehabilitation.
