UAMS gets another Arkansas first with its Endovascular Surgery Suite. This suite provides Dr. John Eidt and his surgical team with the most advanced equipment available for the latest minimally invasive treatments.

This $1.5 million surgery suite includes state-of-the-art medical imaging technology, such as clear 3-D pictures and low-dose X-ray equipment for numerous minimally invasive operations. UAMS is among a handful of hospitals in the nation leading the move to endovascular surgery. We offer the only suite like this in Arkansas.

This new facility features ideal imaging and an ideal operating room. The operating suite is designed for imaging-intensive, catheter-based endovascular techniques and "hybrid" procedures combining traditional surgical interventions and newer endovascular methods. With this new suite, our highly-qualified doctors and staff will be able to expand our treatment of carotid artery disease, abdominal aortic aneurysms and peripheral arterial disease. Endovascular treatments are fast replacing traditional open-surgical methods that for years have been the gold standard of treatment. These exciting new laparoscopic procedures are significantly reducing hospital stays, pain and recovery time for you. Many of the procedures are done on an outpatient basis.
