Survivor Now Helps Raise Awareness
 Josetta Wilkins
At UAMS our goal is to provide the best care for every patient. All the awards and accolades can't tell the UAMS story better than the words of our patients.

"The Cancer Institute is a bright star on the horizon of health care ... thousands of people are dependent on the expertise at the Cancer Institute."

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993, Josetta Wilkins, Ed.D., became a tireless crusader in the fight against the disease. As an Arkansas state representative, she led the effort to pass the Arkansas Breast Cancer Act of 1997. Today she devotes her time to raising awareness of the research, treatment and technology available at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller
Cancer Institute.

Dr. Wilkins recommends the Cancer Institute saying that it is "a bright star on the horizon of health care, not only for Arkansas but nationally and internationally" with thousand of lives depending on it.
