Sending E-Mail Messages to Your Doctor
At UAMS, we understand that you're busy and that you need access to your doctor, so our Family Medical Center offers a secure e-mail service to meet the needs of our patients.
This innovative service allows you easy and convenient contact to do the following:
- Request an appointment
- Refill or renew medications
- Send a medical question to your doctor
- Receive the results of recent lab tests and/or X-rays
To use this system, you will need to complete a written authorization, providing an e-mail address and your signature. After your authorization has been received, our Family Medical Center office staff will send you an e-mail containing the link to our secure Web site. You will simply need to create a user name and password and then you're ready to send messages to your doctor and the Family Medical Center staff.
Your messages are received by our office phone nurse and routed to the appropriate doctor for a reply. After your questions have been answered, the nurse puts a copy of the transaction into your electronic medical record.
And you won't need to worry about your privacy. While providing this service to help you communicate with your doctor, UAMS has also ensured that your communications are secure.

In addition, Arkansas Medicaid participants have access to a free, unlimited service to receive personal responses to health or medical questions within 24 hours through https://www.edocamerica.com/medicaid/.
