The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), the only academic health center in Arkansas, is a nationally recognized institution of teaching, healing, searching and serving.

In addition to its hospital and clinics, UAMS includes five colleges and a graduate school, eight Area Health Education Centers and six institutes of excellence.

UAMS receives only 10% of its funding from the state of Arkansas. The margin of excellence that has increased over the last two decades would not be possible without significant private philanthropic support.
